Samsung India Affirms No Action Against Workers Involved in Recent Strike at Tamil Nadu Plant
Samsung has expressed its approval of the decision by the trade union CITU to end a strike that lasted over a month at its plant in Tamil Nadu. The company assured that no punitive measures would be taken against workers who participated in the strike. Samsung India also extended gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government for facilitating discussions with all involved parties.

The strike, which lasted 37 days, concluded after extensive talks between the trade union, state officials, and Samsung's management. A spokesperson from Samsung India stated, "Samsung India welcomes CITUs decision to call off the illegal strike. We thank the government of Tamil Nadu for its support and welcome our workers who have decided to return to work unconditionally. We will not take action against workers who merely participated in the illegal strike."
Commitment to Worker Welfare
Samsung has pledged to collaborate closely with its workforce to enhance working conditions at the Chennai factory. The company is focused on making it an exemplary workplace. The Tamil Nadu government confirmed that several welfare measures were announced by Samsung management for the benefit of the workers.
The resolution of this strike was achieved through meetings held by various departments with all concerned parties at different stages. This collaborative approach was instrumental in reaching an agreement that led to the cessation of the strike.
Samsung's commitment to maintaining a positive relationship with its employees is evident in its decision not to penalise those who participated in the strike. This move is part of a broader effort to ensure a harmonious working environment at its facilities.
