Samsung One UI 9 Update: Galaxy S26 Gets New Software; S25, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, S23 FE Rollout Dates Revealed

Samsung has started the wider rollout of its latest One UI 9 software update, bringing Android 17-based features and upgraded Galaxy AI capabilities to more devices. The rollout began with the Galaxy S26 series, while Samsung has now provided a clearer timeline for several older flagship phones and foldables.

The stable One UI 9 rollout initially began with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung's official announcements say the broader rollout starts from September 21, although availability can vary depending on the market.

For Indian users, this is particularly relevant because Samsung had already included India among the markets for its One UI 9 beta program. The company had earlier opened beta access for devices including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 through the Samsung Members app.

Samsung's Thailand newsroom has provided a more detailed schedule for the next phase of the rollout. According to the announcement, the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z7 series are scheduled to start receiving One UI 9 from September 28.

This means owners of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra, along with the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, are among the next major groups in line for the stable software update.

However, Samsung is rolling out One UI 9 in phases, so the update may not appear on every device in India on the same day. Software availability can depend on the market, carrier and device variant.

Galaxy S23 FE One UI 9 Update: When Will It Arrive?

Samsung has also included the Galaxy S23 FE in its One UI 9 roadmap. The company's Thailand newsroom says the update is expected to reach the Galaxy S23 FE by October.

For S23 FE users, the update is therefore expected later than the current flagship and newer foldable models. The exact Indian rollout date has not been specified in Samsung's announcement.

What Does Samsung One UI 9 Bring?

One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and focuses heavily on making Galaxy AI more useful in everyday tasks. Samsung says the software introduces new ways to personalise the user experience, manage information and work with photos and videos.

One of the highlighted additions is My FanCam, which can track a selected person in a video and automatically adjust the framing to keep that person in focus. Samsung is also adding new personalisation options and improvements aimed at making Galaxy AI more useful across different Galaxy devices.

The update also brings changes to areas such as device management, accessibility and security, alongside the wider Android 17 platform changes.

Samsung One UI 9 Update In India: What Users Should Know

Indian Galaxy users should not assume that the dates announced for Thailand automatically represent the exact Indian rollout schedule. Samsung's official material makes clear that availability and timing can differ by market.

Users can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their Galaxy smartphone. If the update is not available immediately, it may simply mean that Samsung has not yet enabled the rollout for that particular device or region.
