Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Collection: The 2016 tragic love story has taken nine years for becoming Harshvardhan Rane's blockbuster hit, since the movie crosses more than Rs 50 crore collection and is steadily racing for Rs 60 crore mark. Among the latest update, Sanam Teri Kasam's director Vinay Sapru revealed that Bollywood's Dabang bhai-jaan Salman Khan would have been perfect for the lead role Inder which was played by Rane.

In an interview, Sapru revealed that if Sanam Teri Kasam was produced in the 90s version than Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan would have been 100% perfect for the role of Inder. He called Salman as the ultimate romantic hero of that era.

He told India Today, during the interview, "The innocence in his eyes, the way he looks at and holds the girl, the purity of thought and emotion-he was the perfect romantic hero of that era, and he would be our perfect Inder. When Salman sir is in a film, he makes his co-star look special because he is so special. Anyone we could have cast opposite him would be special and, of course, it would be a newcomer. His presence alone elevates his leading ladies. He was the ultimate romantic hero of the 90s!"

After its re-release on February 7, 2025, a week ahead of Valentine's Day, Sanam Teri Kasam minted about Rs 9 crore in a span of two days, already surpassing its initial domestic lifetime collections. As of now, Sanam Teri Kasam has crossed more than Rs 53 crore mark, making it the highest grossing re-released movie in India.

According to Sacnilk data, the film bagged over 32 crore net in just 16 days in India. With its emotional story and soulful music, it connected with audiences after 9 years of its original release, bringing its total global earnings to 53 crore gross. This re-release success confirms Sanam Teri Kasam as a fan favorite that shines at the box office after a long time.

2. Tumbbad: At the second place is Sohum Shah-starred Tumbbad which earned about Rs 32 crore net in its re-release period in India. Sanam Teri Kasam has even dethroned Tumbbad's worldwide collection which was about Rs 52.25 crore.

3. Ghilli: Holding the third rank, Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha-starred Ghilli managed to earn more than Rs 22 crore during its re-release, owing to Vijay's popularity.

Sacnilk's latest report said, Sanam Teri Kasam and Tumbbad proved themselves in the rerelease by earning almost three times more than then their original run. The success of Sanam Teri Kasam, Tumbbad, and Ghilli shows the power of nostalgia and great storytelling.
