Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Collection: The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane classic romantic cult movie, has created a new history by becoming the first re-release to cross the Rs 50 crore collection mark. Sanam Teri Kasam outran horror fantasy thriller Tumbbad which held the title of highest re-release grosser with over Rs 32 crore collection net in India. Now, the highest re-release grosser in India is Sanam Teri Kasam. The movie is still trending in theatres and nearing the Rs 53 crore mark.

Sacnilk data revealed that Sanam Teri Kasam raked in an impressive 32+ crores net collection in its re-release run, including collections up to its third Saturday (16 days). It has eclipsed last year's re-release sensation Tumbbad, which minted 32 crores net over its entire re-release run.
Further, the data revealed that the excellent repeat run of the film saw Sanam Teri Kasam topping 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, including the original run. It is nearing 53 crores gross globally.

Sanam Teri Kasam's first release in 2016 witnessed a lifetime collection of Rs 9.11 crore in India. Its worldwide grossing was Rs 16.03 crore. Despite not being part of the Rs 50 crore or Rs 100 crore club in the initial release, Sanam Teri Kasam's first release was a success compared to its overall Budget of Rs 5 crore.
However, the movie was released a week ahead of Valentine's Day due to its popularity on OTT platforms. Apart from cinemas, the movie can be streamed on OTT platforms like Jio Cinema, Zee5, YouTube, and Apple TV. The film is available for free on Jio and YouTube.
Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a tough ex-convict Inder and a traditional librarian Saru. Inder and Saru fall in love and get married but a tragedy changes their lives forever. The cinematography was done by Chirantan Das, the music was given by Himesh Reshammiya, and the lyrics were written by Reshammiya, Sameer Anjaan, Shabbir Ahmed and Subrat Sinha. Sanam Teri Kasam was released worldwide on 5 February 2016 under Eros International. It received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure in its first release. It was re-released on 7 February 2025, and emerged as a commercial success, as per Wikipedia.

Further, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have confirmed the sequel Sanam Teri Kasam 2 that could launch in 2026. However, instead of the first part's female lead Mawra Hocane, reports have stated that Shraddha Kapoor could be the lead actress in Sanam Teri Kasam 2, paired with Hardhvardhan Rane.
While no official statement is made of the cast in Sanam Teri Kasam 2, however, while chatting with Instant Bollywood, Rao and Sapru said to tag Shradha when they were asked if they would rope in the popular actress for the sequel.
