SanDisk Stock Price Rally 35% in 5 Sessions Rally 35% in 5 Sessions; Should You Buy? Check Top Brokerages' TP

SanDisk Stock Price Today: Shares of SanDisk Corp extended their strong run on Monday, with the memory-chip maker gaining another 10% in US trading. The stock has now advanced about 35% over five consecutive sessions, putting SanDisk firmly back on investors' radar as markets reassess the long-term potential of AI-driven storage demand.

SanDisk shares climbed to around $1,805.44, up $164.33, or 10.01%. The stock opened at $1,700.74 and touched an intraday high of $1,794.99, while the day's low stood at $1,698.00.

Why Is SanDisk Stock Rising Today?

The latest surge follows SanDisk's Investor Day on August 13, when the company presented an ambitious long-term growth strategy. Management said it expects annual revenue growth in the mid-to-high teens through fiscal 2030.

SanDisk is also targeting non-GAAP gross margins of around 80% and adjusted free cash flow margins of close to 50% between fiscal 2028 and fiscal 2030. The targets have encouraged investors to take a more optimistic view of the company's future earnings and cash generation.

The company's outlook comes as demand for storage infrastructure rises alongside the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence. AI systems require significant amounts of data storage, particularly as businesses increasingly deploy AI inference applications in data centres.

SanDisk Stock Gets AI Boost From NAND Memory Demand

SanDisk's core business is closely linked to NAND flash memory, which is widely used in solid-state drives and enterprise storage products. The growing investment in data centres has created a fresh demand opportunity for high-capacity storage.

Investors are increasingly looking beyond traditional memory cycles and focusing on whether AI-related demand can support a longer period of strong NAND pricing and utilisation.

Memory stocks are historically cyclical, however. Periods of tight supply can push prices and margins higher, while excess production can quickly reverse the trend. The current rally suggests investors believe AI-related demand could help support the industry's favourable phase for longer.

SanDisk Plans to Return Surplus Cash to Shareholders

Another factor supporting investor sentiment is SanDisk's capital-return strategy. The company said that after meeting its business and investment requirements, it plans to return 100% of surplus capital to shareholders. That commitment could become particularly important if stronger demand translates into sustained free cash flow.

Chief Executive David Goeckeler attributed the company's progress to what he described as disciplined execution of its previously announced strategy. Chief Financial Officer Luis Visoso also highlighted the company's focus on growth, sustainability and returns.

Positive analyst commentary has added further momentum to the stock. JPMorgan initiated coverage of SanDisk on August 14 with an Overweight rating and a $2,250 price target. Analyst Harlan Sur highlighted the company's position to benefit from rising NAND demand associated with AI inference.

Goldman Sachs and Mizuho have also maintained Buy ratings on the stock. Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson retained an Outperform rating with a $2,000 target, although he cautioned that memory markets remain cyclical and expressed some reservations about parts of SanDisk's long-term outlook.

The broader analyst consensus remains bullish. Recent market commentary puts the average price target at around $2,210, suggesting substantial potential upside from the stock's previous close. Around 81% of analysts covering SanDisk currently have a Buy rating.
