Sanjiv Kapoor Joins Saudia As Advisor After Quitting Jet Airways As CEO-designate
Sanjiv Kapoor, who recently resigned from his position as the CEO of the cash-strapped airline Jet Airways, has joined Saudia which was formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is the country's flag carrier.
In a series of tweets, Kapoor stated that one of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030's three pillars was the transformation of the country's advantageous geographic location into a global hub connecting three continents - Asia, Europe, and Africa - while also luring 100M tourists to the Kingdom each year.
"I am thrilled to share that I have joined the Saudia Group as Advisor to His Excellency Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of the Group," he said in a tweet on Wednesday.

Kapoor worked in various roles for a number of airlines, including SpiceJet, Vistara, and Go First.
Kapoor left his position as CEO-designate of Jet Airways last month. On April 4, 2022, he started working for Jet Airways as their CEO. The resolution of the defunct airline Jet Airways had been taken over by the Jalan-Kalrock consortium (JKC).
In a Linkedin post, Kapoor said that the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030, which seeks to bring 100 million tourists to the dominant Gulf state, will heavily rely on aviation.
"One of the three pillars of Saudia Arabia's Vision 2030 is the transformation of its advantaged strategic location into a global hub connecting three continents, Asia, Europe, and Africa, while simultaneously attracting 100M annual visitors to the Kingdom," he said.
