SBI Mutual Fund Tops As Largest AMC By Asset Size In Jan-March 2020
During January-March quarter of 2020, SBI Mutual Fund tops as the largest asset management company (AMC) based on total assets under management. As per the data from AMFI, SBI AMC has scaled from the third spot in October-December with asset size of Rs 3.52 lakh crore to record total asset base of more than Rs. 3.73 lakh crore in the last quarter of FY20.
Overall assets under management of the mutual fund industry, comprising 44 fund houses, increased from Rs 26.77 lakh crore in December quarter of 2019 to more than Rs 27 lakh crore in the March quarter 2020. The increase in asset size by a marginal amount during the period under review comes amid exorbitant volatility in stock markets.
"Over the years, we have built robust internal systems and processes, we have the largest investment team in the industry and believe in bottom-up investing," PTI report quoted Ashwani Bhatia MD and CEO, SBI MF as saying.
Here are the country's top mutual fund houses based on their asset size as on March 31, 2020:
• SBI Mutual Fund : Rs 3,73,537 crore in March 2020 quarter
• HDFC Mutual Fund : Rs 3,69,783 crore
• ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund : Rs 3,50,743.5 crore
• Aditya Birla Sunlife Mutual Fund : Rs 2,47,522 crore
• Nippon India Mutual Fund : Rs 2,04,884 crore
