Scheduled International Flights To Operate To And From India From Dec 15

On Friday, the ministry of Civil aviation said the international flights to and from India shall resume from December 15. Nevertheless, in view of the new coronavirus strain and increasing infection rate in some of the nations, the centre has excluded 14 nations including the the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Singapore.

The decision as per reports in this regard has been taken after consultation with the Health ministry considering the present coronavirus situation across the globe, especially the emergence of the new coronavirus variant.

Because of the outbreak of the lethal coronavirus, scheduled international flights in the country have been suspended since March 23, 2020. But via exclusive air bubble arrangements established with around 28 nations, special passenger flights were operational since July 2020.

"The matter of resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger services to and from India has been examined in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and it has been decided that scheduled commercial international passenger services to and from India may be resumed from December 15, 2021", said the civil aviation ministry in an order.
