Sensex Ends With Gains Of 254 Pts; Broader Markets Outperform
In a range bound trade, volatility in Indian indices dropped in today's session. At the close, Sensex was up 254 pts at 51279, while Nifty was up 76 pts to 15175. Broader markets outperformed the headline indices.
Among top gainers in trade today have been JSW Steel, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel, Bajaj finance and Sun Pharma, while laggards have been SBI Life Insurance, ONGC, IOC, HDFC Life and Hero Motocorp.

Sectorally IT pack led among all the indices on hopes that the passage of the US coronavirus aid will help strengthen the Indian IT landscape.
Auto stocks also stocks with gains of over 1percent as there was reported a surge in passenger vehicles.
Other heavyweights that gained in trade included the likes of RIL, Tech Mahindra. While there was seen weakness in only the Nifty PSU Bank pocket.
Also, merger of MTNL and BSNL has been postponed on account of financial reasons such as high debt of MTNL. Nonetheless the stock of the PSU continues to outrun the headline index.
Meanwhile, European indices traded with gains of up to 0.64% on French CAC.
