Sensex Gains 224 Points; Nifty Ends At 13740; Divis Labs Top Gainer

It was another day of record breaking streak for the stock markets ahead of weekly expiry. Sensex during the day hit a new high of 46992, while Nifty scaled to new all time high of 13773 . At the close, Sensex was up by at 46890, up 0.48% or 224 points and Nifty gained 0.42% or 58 points to 13740.70 led by gains in the financial and realty space. Nifty metal, FMCG and Oil and Gas led the list of losers.

Top gainers in trade today have been HDFC twins, Bajaj Finance, Divis Labs and IndusInd Bank. Losers in the session include Hindalco, Adani Ports, Power Grid, Coal India and HUL.

Burger King after its stellar listing on Monday posted losses for the first time today on profit booking. The scrip traded weak by close to 10% at Rs. 179.35 per share.

NMDC shares settled higher by 1.6 percent after its Rs. 1378 crore buyback process was initiated today.

Meanwhile, European indices at the time of writing this copy were trading on a positive note with German DAX up 0.98 percent. US stock futures also traded positive signalling strong opening in the US markets.

Gold tops Rs. 50000 per 10 gm as there is optimism over possible roll-out of the stimulus in US to fight the economic fall-out due to the pandemic.
Indian rupee last traded 73.56 per US dollar buying on gains in the Indian indices
