Sensex, Nifty Surge To New All-Time Highs

Indian indices buoyed by strength across Asian markets opened higher with Sensex breaching the previous high in session today. Sensex opened with gains of 0.37% or 151 points at 41040.24 while Nifty traded higher by 0.37% or 44.95 at 12118.70. NSE's index further scaled in morning trade to touch an intraday high of 12,132.45.

Nifty's last recorded all-time high was 12,089 points, as seen on 3 June 2019.

Sensex Jumps To New Record High Of 41,000

Asian stocks fuelled the rally with positive signs on US-China trade deal which pushed US stock indices to record highs.

Yes Bank, Hindalco, Sun Pharma, RIL, ITC, Asian Paints, are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are Bharti Infratel, Bharti Airtel, Nestle, Zee Entertainment and Grasim.

Shares of RIL also moved higher for the third consecutive session with a surge of 0.92% at Rs. 1576 per share. The m-cap of the company stands close to Rs. 10 trillion mark.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises was trading lower by 4% after its Chairman Subhash Chandra amid debt woes of the company resigned.

Meanwhile, rupee is trading higher from the previous close at 71.66 per US dollar.
