Sensex Surges 100 Points, Nifty Up 41 Points, Asian Peers Inched Lower

BSE Sensex opened higher by 100 points to 60,0273.19 and NSE Nifty jumped up by 41.50 points to 17,763 at 9:15 am, while the Asian peers inched lower on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Nifty Bank is flat at 41,368.25, Nifty Midcap inched up 0.35 points to 30,731.65 and Nifty Small cap was moving upwards by 0.34 points in early morning trade on April 12.

Asian equities inched lower on Wednesday, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was 0.17% lower in choppy trading. Japan's Nikkei was 0.49% higher, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.65%.

China shares were mixed at the open, with the Shanghai Composite Index up 0.1% while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 0.02%. As data on Tuesday showed China's consumer inflation in March was at its slowest since September 2021.

Today Stocks in focus would be TCS, Divi's Labs and Venus Pipes would announce quarterly numbers, Jubilant has got a got buy rating from Citi, Crisil has announced dividend and the board of Nestle would meet today to decide the dividend. Today even the government will share the retail inflation number.
