The Indian Patent Office has issued a patent to Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. for its most recent groundbreaking development, "System and Method for Charging an Electric Vehicle."

By resolving one of the most enduring compatibility issues in the sector, this patented solution represents a significant improvement in India's EV charging ecosystem.
The breakthrough makes it possible to use CCS2 DC fast chargers to seamlessly charge GBT-based electric vehicles.
Many vehicles, particularly older fleets, are still using GBT charging technology while the industry quickly moves toward the CCS2 standard. When connected to a CCS2 charger, Servotech's unique technology functions as a smart converter that enables GBT vehicles to charge fast, safely, and effectively.
"This breakthrough not only optimizes charging infrastructure utilization but also ensures that existing vehicle owners are not left behind in the technological shift," said Servotech Renewable Power System in a statement.
"The system has undergone successful trials on select GB/T enabled EV buses and commercial EV cabs, demonstrating excellent performance and reliability. Servotech is now exploring wider deployment opportunities across fleet operators, public transport networks, and commercial charging hubs," Servotech Renewable Power System confirmed in a regulatory filing.
Arun Handa, Chief Technical Officer of Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., said, "Being awarded this patent is a proud moment for Servotech. It reflects our deep-rooted focus on solving real industry challenges with practical, scalable innovations. We're positive that this revolutionary technology will play a crucial role in bridging India's charging compatibility gaps and accelerating the shift to a unified, efficient EV ecosystem. Our continued investment in next-generation charging solutions strengthens our mission of building a smarter, more inclusive electric mobility future."
Founded in 2004 and based in New Delhi, Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. is a multifaceted clean energy and power electronics company that produces and distributes a wide range of products, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, energy storage solutions, EV chargers, charger parts, and servo-stabilizers.
Recent business achievements demonstrate the company's ongoing momentum: in November 2025, Servotech got a sizable contract for a rooftop solar project for Rs 73.70 crore as part of a housing initiative for SC/ST residences. From a financial and market standpoint, Servotech is traded under the ticker "SERVOTECH" on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).
