Shiv Sena UBT Shuts Down Online Food Delivery Office in Mumbai Over Poor Customer Service

The Shiv Sena UBT has taken action against a well-known online food delivery service in Mumbai. The party's affiliate closed the company's office due to poor service, withholding of customer funds, and misleading information about restaurants. Akhil Chitre, head of the party's communication wing, shared this on X, demanding transparency on delivery agent data and its management.

Shiv Sena UBT Closes Food Delivery Office

Chitre expressed concerns over the company's app, stating that customers often receive unsatisfactory service. He warned that if improvements are not made within seven days, the party will halt the company's food deliveries in Mumbai. "People trust and place orders with the company’s app, but they get bad service," he claimed.

Customer Service Concerns

Chitre highlighted issues with refunds, noting that when an ordered item is unavailable, customers do not receive immediate refunds. Instead, full repayment occurs only after persistent requests and takes four to seven working days to process. This delay has been a significant point of contention for users.

The Shiv Sena UBT functionary also pointed out the lack of a Marathi interface in the company's customer service options. He mentioned that even chatbots only offer English, and there is no option for direct calls to customer care. This language barrier has been a source of frustration for many local users.

Restaurant Information Discrepancies

Chitre criticized the app for not providing accurate information about restaurants. He claimed that some listed establishments are either poorly maintained or merely roadside stalls. This discrepancy between app listings and reality has led to dissatisfaction among customers expecting higher standards.

Currently, the company's operations in Mumbai have been halted by Shiv Sena UBT. Chitre stated that if improvements are not seen soon, their delivery personnel will be barred from operating in the city. "For now, their shutters have been pulled down," he said.

The party's actions reflect growing discontent with the company's services and highlight the need for better customer experience and transparency in operations. The situation remains tense as both parties await further developments within the stipulated timeframe.
