Silver Rate Today Sees Biggest Jump in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru; Smashes Lifetime High on MCX | Dec 22 Rates

Silver Rate Today: As gold continues to be the darling of investors and retail jewellery buyers, silver has emerged as the new 'blue-eyed' metal, posting a record-breaking run over the past month. Silver prices in India have touched back-to-back record highs over the past week. Extending its bull run, silver rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other Indian cities scaled fresh record levels on Monday, December 22. Meanwhile, silver prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) also shattered their all-time high.

The sharp surge in silver rate today coincided with the record-breaking run of the gold rate in India. The bullish run of the precious metals is the result of rising expectations of another rate cut by the US Federal Reserve. Increasing geopolitical tensions are also contributing to the investors' sentiment towards gold and silver's safe-haven demand.

The price of silver in India surged to its record high mark on Monday, December 22. Silver rate in India increased to Rs 219 per gram and to Rs 2,19,000 per kilogram. Silver rate in India has jumped over 40% in past one month and nearly 100% since the beginning of the year 2025.

Silver Rate in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Other Indian Cities

Silver rate in Bengaluru (aka Bangalore) jumped to Rs 2190 per gram and to Rs 2,19,000 per kilogram on Monday. Whereas, the rate of silver in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai stood at Rs 2190 per gram. In Chennai and Hyderabad, silver rate today was recorded at Rs 2310 per gram.

MCX Silver Rate Today At Record High

MCX Silver Futures (with March expiry) touched their fresh all-time high of Rs 214583 per kilogram on Monday. The MCX futures was trading at Rs 213241 per kilogram at 11:40 am. Whereas, international silver rate today, on Monday, jumped nearly 3% to $69 per ounce, as per Trading Economics.
