Over the past five trading days, silver has climbed steadily from Rs 2,19,000 per kg on December 22 to Rs 2,40,000 per kg today, registering a total weekly increase of Rs 21,000 per kg. In retail terms, silver has risen by Rs 210 per 10 grams during the week.

For larger quantities, the price of 100 grams of silver moved up to Rs 24,000, rising by Rs 600 in a single day. On a per kilogram basis, silver saw a sharp jump of Rs 6,000, with today's rate standing at Rs 2,40,000 per kg, compared with Rs 2,34,000 in the previous session.
