The BLOs have disbursed the forms among almost all 1.45 crore voters in the city, while over 62% of the filled-up forms were digitised.
The revision of the SIR deadline would give ample time to voters for submitting their filled-up enumeration forms. The process of digitisation of forms submitted by the voters saw multiple glitches and delays over the past few weeks due to multiple reasons. As per media reports, BLOs are yet to receive submission of forms by many voters. Several media outlets reported that the SIR revision work in Delhi saw delas due to errors in details provided by the voters, technical issues, difficulty in finding voter details, etc. The SIR process in Delhi started on June 30 with door-to-door distribution campaign by BLOs.

The SIR exercise in Mumbai has also been extended amid the ongoing house-to-house verification by Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) till August 17. The SIR timeline was revised and approved after a request from the state CEO, as per an order issued to the Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer. The revised timetable includes house-to-house visits by BLOs in the city.
