SIR Timeline Revised For Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Telangana: When Will Final Draft Rolls Be Published?
The Election Commission on Wednesday, July 15, extended the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi, Punjab, Telangana and Karnataka. With SIR timeline revision, the dates for house-to-house verification and the publication of draft and final rolls has been changed.
The SIR schedule for Haryana and Andhra Pradesh has also been extended. Delhi, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Telangana and Karnataka, are among the key states and union territories where SIR is being carried out under the third phase of the exercise. SIR was rolled out on May 14.

Once after the completion of the existing phase, SIR will be carried out across the country excluding Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
SIR Timeline Revised For Phase 3
The house-to-house visits by booth level officers will continue till August 3 in Punjab. Earlier, the SIR was scheduled to complete in the state on July 24. The draft rolls will now be published on August 13 in place of July 3. The final rolls will come out on October 12 instead of October 10.
SIR Timeline In Delhi
As per an India Today report, draft electoral rolls will be published in Delhi on August 17, instead of August 5. The house-to-house visits, which were earlier supposed to conclude on July 29, will now be carried out till August 8.
SIR Timeline In Telangana
In Telangana, SIR is expected to be concluded next month. The draft rolls will be published on August 10 and the final rolls will be published on October 12. The final electoral roll in Telangana will be published on October 12.
SIR Timeline in Karnataka
In Karnataka, house-to-house visits by booth level officers will continue till August 8, earlier the visits were supposed to be concluded by July 29. Draft rolls in the state are likely to be published on August 17 instead of August 5.
The Commission, meanwhile, has sanctioned a special honorarium of Rs 6,000 to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors engaged in the SIR process."I am directed to convey that considering the volume and nature of the work involved in Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, the Commission has approved the grant of a one-time honorarium of Rs 6,000 to each BLO and BLO Supervisor engaged in the exercise, in addition to their annual remuneration," the letter from ECI said.
