Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 16: The spiritual remake of critically acclaimed movie Tare Zameen Par, Sitaare Zameen Par, has regained its holding at the box offices in its third weekend. The movie based on the life of neurodivergent youngsters and a disgruntled basketball coach has surpassed Rs 200 crore of worldwide box office collection, as per Sacnlik data released on Sunday.
Produced by Aamir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par is a Hindi adaptation of the Spanish film "Campeones" (Champions), released in 2018. The movie earned nearly Rs 4.75 crore (net) on Saturday, July 5, according to website Sacnilk.

The movie minted an estimated Rs 4.74 crore (Net) on Saturday, making Sitaare Zameen Par's total box office collection in India (net) at Rs 142.55 crore. Saturday's earnings of Aamir Khan's movie marked a strong revival compared to its performance during the rest of the week. SZP earned an estimated Rs 2.4 crore (net) on Friday, which included Rs 2.39 crore earned in Hindi and Rs 10 lakh earned in Tamil.
Despite the revival, the movie's daily box office collection has gradually declined during its 16-day run at the silver screens in India. The movie's weekly collection during the second week reduced to Rs 46.5 Cr crore from Rs 88.9 crore earned in the first week after its release.
Commenting on the challenges for the movie after the release of two notabl movies, Bollywood analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "Sitare Zameen Par close to its [second] Wednesday and Thursday levels, despite the arrival of two noteworthy releases - Metro In Dino and Jurassic World Rebirth- as well as the holdover title F1The Movie" Despite these big releases, the movie maintained its ground on Saturday and is expected to do well on Sunday.

The movie earned an estimated Rs 217.5 crore worldwide after day 16 of its release with its overseas release at Rs 52.7 crore. Whereas, its total India (net) collection stood at Rs 143.34 crore. Its India (gross) collection remained at Rs 164.8 crore on Saturday.
Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia D'Souza alongside newcomers Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. It is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma.
The film features Aamir in the role of a basketball coach, who mentors ten differently-abled individuals. It is produced by Aamir alongside Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka.
The movie is billed as a spiritual sequel of critically acclaimed Tare Zameen Par which was also formed on the lines of inclusivity and empowerment. The movie revolves around the life of a schoolboy who is artistically gifted but struggles academically, apparently due to his dyslexia. The movie showcases the bond between the school kid and his teacher (Aamir Khan) who helps him uncover his potential.
