After more than two decades, Smriti Irani is all set to revive the iconic role of Tulsi Virani in the much-awaited second season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, bringing back one of Indian television's most beloved characters. The original show, which aired in 2000 and made Smriti Irani a household name, is returning to StarPlus from July 29 at 10:30 pm and will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.

According to several industry reports, Smriti Irani will be paid around Rs 14 lakh per episode, a monumental leap from the mere Rs 1,800 per episode she earned during the original run of the series over 20 years ago. Although the production house has not officially confirmed these figures, the reports have only added to the anticipation surrounding the show's reboot.

According to her election affidavit filed earlier, Smriti Irani's total declared wealth, including movable and immovable assets, stood at Rs 17.57 crore as of March 31, 2024.
CNBC TV18's report highlights that her movable assets include Rs 3.08 crore, while her husband, Zubin Irani, declared movable assets worth over Rs 3.3 crore. She also disclosed bank deposits of Rs 25.48 lakh, investments in bonds and debentures amounting to Rs 88.15 lakh and investments in National Savings Schemes and postal savings worth Rs 30.77 lakh.
Her declared immovable assets stand at Rs 5.66 crore, with her husband declaring Rs 5.51 crore. Additionally, Smriti owns motor vehicles valued at Rs 27.86 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 37.48 lakh.

Kapoor candidly admitted her initial hesitation but ultimately embraced the reboot to offer value-driven storytelling suited for today's visually oriented audience. She encouraged viewers to trust the narrative, reminding them that Kyunki belongs not just to her but to the millions who have cherished the show.
