Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently engaged with a South Korean delegation, led by Jung Won Joo, Chairman of Korea Herald, Daewoo Corporation, and the Korea Housing Builders Association. During their meeting, Saini emphasised the government's dedication to fostering the growth of Korean businesses in Haryana. He assured that assistance would be provided to identify suitable land near the National Capital Region to support this expansion.

Minister of Foreign Cooperation Department Rao Narbir Singh and Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma were also present at the meeting. According to an official statement, Saini highlighted key sectors for collaboration, including automotive, textiles, food processing, and real estate. He warmly invited South Korean partners to participate in the City-to-City project, stressing that exchanging best practices would be mutually advantageous.
Strengthening Cultural and Business Ties
The Chief Minister noted cultural similarities between India and South Korea, stating that both countries are spiritually connected. "South Korea and Haryana are made for each other," he remarked. He expressed his commitment to giving Haryana a new international identity in partnership with the Department of Foreign Cooperation of Haryana.
Every year, Haryana celebrates the International Gita Mahotsav with one country as the partner nation. This year, Tanzania has been chosen as the partner country. The Chief Minister extended a special invitation to the Korean delegation, expressing a desire for South Korea to be the partner country at the next International Gita Mahotsav.
Business Opportunities and Future Collaborations
Jung congratulated Saini on forming the government in Haryana for a third consecutive term. The Korean delegation included 21 regional heads who collectively hold about 30% of Korea's housing market share. Jung shared that his association is developing the Star Lake City Project in Vietnam and expressed interest in bringing this project to Haryana.
Additionally, Jung mentioned that 70 delegates from 22 companies would attend the upcoming Haryana-Korea Business Connect event. This gathering aims to further strengthen business ties between the two regions and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
