Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2021-22 Series IV or Tranche IV shall open for public subscription from July 12-July 16 July, 2021. The issue price for the gold bond has been fixed at a price of Rs. 4807 per gram of gold. This is comparatively lower than the retail price of gold of 24K in Delhi at over Rs. 5000 per 10 gm.

Those applying for SGBs via the online mode will also be getting a discount of Rs. 50 per gram. 'For such investors, the issue price of Gold Bond will be Rs 4,757 per gram of gold,' the RBI said.

For the earlier tranche that opened between May 31 to June 4, 2021, the issue price was fixed at Rs. 4889 per gm.

The government of India issued by the RBI can be purchased from commercial banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), designated post offices, and recognised stock exchanges viz., National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE.

A total of Rs 25,702 crore has been mopped up via the SGB Scheme till end-March 2021 since its inception.
