1:10 Split + 4:1 & 1:1 Bonus In 2 Yrs: Why Condom Maker, Cupid Stock Is Falling For 3 Days In Row? BUY Time?

Cupid Ltd is a leading condom manufacturing company that has been witnessing selling pressure for three consecutive days. On August 18, Cupid drops over 4% on BSE, extending its decline from the 20% crash in the previous session. Although experts believe that Cupid has strong long-term growth indicators, the current market sentiment is bearish due to sector performance. Cupid is among the top bonus-issuing stocks and has carried out one stock split in 2 years. Recently, the company declared its Q1 results for FY27, where it recorded multi-fold growth across verticals.

Cupid Ltd Stock Price

On BSE, Cupid touched an intraday low of Rs 257.40 apiece in the early trade, dropping by 4.4%. Currently, the stock has recovered some of the losses but trading lower by 1%.

Yesterday, Cupid reached a low of Rs 235 apiece, which resulted in 20% decline. And prior to this, Cupid was down by 1% last week on August 14th.

Explaining the reason behind decline, MarketsMojo note said that despite the company's strong long-term growth indicators, such as a net sales growth of 28.98% and consistent positive results over the last five quarters, the current market sentiment appears to be negative, influenced by broader sector performance, as the Rubber Products sector has fallen by 6.64%. The stock's valuation is also a concern, with a very expensive Price to Book Value of 80.3, which may deter some investors. Overall, these factors contribute to the current decline in Cupid Ltd's stock price.

In Q1FY27, Cupid had posted 142% YoY growth in total income to Rs 156.98 crore, while EBITDA skyrocketed by 265% YoY to Rs 154.72 crore. Also, net profit climbed 194% YoY to Rs 44.15 crore in the quarter. EBITDA margins expanded strongly by 1,127 basis points to 39% compared to a year ago quarter.

Overall, Cupid made a strong start to FY27. It said, Cupid commenced FY27 with strong momentum across its international B2B healthcare and domestic Consumer Healthcare & FMCG businesses, supported by healthy execution across key operating segments.

What Should Investors Do?

MarketsMojo's note said despite a modest decline in price, the stock has attracted significant trading volumes and institutional participation, reflecting a complex interplay of market forces and investor sentiment.

From a technical standpoint, MarketsMojo on August 17th said, Cupid Ltd is trading above its key moving averages, including the 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day averages. This positioning generally indicates that the stock has maintained an upward momentum over various time horizons despite the recent short-term price dips. The narrow trading range and weighted average price near the day's low may reflect a consolidation phase, where market participants are assessing the next directional move.

Overall, they guided investors to focus on its forthcoming earnings announcements, sectoral trends, and broader economic indicators that could influence the stock's direction in the weeks ahead.
