SQuAD Forging India has successfully produced 25,000 aircraft wheels at its Karnataka facility. This achievement highlights the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and showcases the aerospace ecosystem's value in Belagavi.
SQuAD Forging India announced it has reached the milestone of manufacturing 25,000 aircraft wheels at its Belgavi, Karnataka facility. This achievement highlights the company's growth in the aerospace sector. SQuAD, a collaboration between Aequs Limited and Aubert & Duval, began producing aircraft wheels in 2018. It took five years to produce the first 10,000 wheels by August 2023.

In just two years since reaching the 10,000-wheel mark, SQuAD has now produced an additional 15,000 wheels. This rapid progress underscores the company's dedication to meeting customer needs. Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman and CEO of Aequs Limited, stated that the company has leveraged its aerospace cluster's capabilities to achieve full in-country value addition on various products, including wheels.
Strategic Partnership and Market Growth
The partnership between Aequs and Aubert & Duval has been instrumental in this success. Etienne GALAN, CEO of Aubert & Duval SAS, remarked on the significance of this milestone. "By passing the 25,000-wheel milestone, SQuAD has reached an important position that demonstrates Aubert & Duval's unique metallurgical expertise and the relevance of the partnership between A&D and Aequs in serving our customers. This partnership enables Aubert & Duval to continue its development in India, a particularly promising and strategic market for the aerospace industry," he said.
SQuAD's facility is well-equipped for producing small and medium-sized aero-structural parts. It features separate forging lines with a 1,200-tonne screw press and a 10,000-tonne hydraulic press. These facilities are complemented by additional lines for heat treatment processes.
Commitment to Customer Satisfaction
Aravind Melligeri highlighted SQuAD's focus on customer satisfaction as a key factor in achieving this milestone. "Accomplishing this major milestone in time underscores the customer focus at SQuAD with all projects completed to customer requirements," he said. The company's ability to deliver projects that meet customer specifications reflects its commitment to quality and reliability.
The aerospace cluster at Belagavi offers end-to-end solutions that have enabled Aequs to add significant value within India. This capability is evident in their production of aircraft wheels and other components for the aerospace industry.
SQuAD's achievement of producing 25,000 aircraft wheels marks a significant step forward for both Aequs Limited and Aubert & Duval. Their collaboration continues to strengthen their presence in India's growing aerospace market.
