When it comes to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), there is confusion about whether NRIs are also eligible to apply for and obtain an Aadhaar. The answer is yes. Non-Resident Indians can apply for and obtain their Aadhaar. The Aadhaar enrollment process for NRIs is the same as that for Indian residents, and it involves furnishing biometric and demographic information.

The Aadhaar card is based on biometric and demographic data collected during the Aadhaar enrollment process, which includes fingerprints, iris scans, and a photograph.

In this article, we will discuss how NRIs can apply for Aadhaar of their children and obtain an Aadhaar number for them.

An NRI (irrespective of age) with a valid Indian passport is eligible to apply for Aadhaar from any Aadhaar Kendra. If you are an NRI and applying for Aadhaar, remember that the UIDAI doesn't accept international or non-Indian mobile numbers. Thus, make sure to provide an Indian phone number during the application process.
