The facility is designed to be a major production centre for precision fermentation-based dairy proteins. It aims to address the rising global demand for sustainable food ingredients. The company noted that the facility's capacity is largely pre-booked, indicating strong market interest. Additionally, there are plans for land and infrastructure to support future expansion.

Precision Fermentation Technology

Perfect Day CEO TM Narayan highlighted the significance of this facility in revolutionising the global food industry. "By leveraging precision fermentation technology, we are advancing the creation of high-quality dairy proteins without the environmental footprint of traditional methods," he stated.

Shayri Roychoudhury, Chief Business Operations Officer at Perfect Day Inc., emphasised the environmental benefits of these proteins. "This facility will produce fermentation-based dairy proteins that are not only better for the planet but also meet the diverse needs of customers worldwide," she said.

Expanding Global Reach

Perfect Day's precision-fermented proteins have already found applications in products like ice creams, sports nutrition, and baked goods. The new Bharuch facility will enable the company to expand its offerings further. This expansion will contribute to a more resilient and sustainable global food ecosystem.

The company's release noted that this initiative marks a significant milestone in transforming food production methods. By using advanced technology, Sterling Biotech aims to create dairy proteins with minimal environmental impact compared to traditional methods.

This project reflects a growing trend towards sustainable food production. As demand for eco-friendly ingredients rises, facilities like this play a crucial role in meeting consumer needs while reducing environmental harm.
