Stock Market Alert: The Indian stock market opened on a flat note on Friday as Nifty and Sensex kicked off today's trading session with minor gains. Nifty Bank started today's trading session in the green. Nearly 1140 stocks were trading higher, while most of the broad market indices remained strong. Q4 results of companies like Honasa, ITC, Sun Pharma, etc impacted their stock price movement.
Nifty 50 opened 29 points higher at 24639.5, whereas BSE Sensex started 50 points weak at 80897 points. Nifty Bank was up 18 points at 54959 points.

Honasa shares were trading nearly 9% higher after the company reported strong q4 result on Thursday. ITC shares also showcased strong momentum after upbeat quarterly results. Grasim shares were trading nearly 1.7% higher than their previous closing on Friday after Q4 result announcement.

Power Mech shares zoomed nearly 12.9% during Friday's trading session after the BSE company reported March quarter results. Other than this, Adani Ports, Infosys, SBI, and other notable Nifty 50 companies were trading in green.
Stock Market Opening: Who Were The Top Laggards?
Sun Pharma emerged as a major disappointment after reporting earnings for the March quarter of financial year 2024-25. The company reported lower revenue in US business and had expressed cautiousness in outlook and FY26 revenue guidance. Apart from Sun Pharma, most of the other pharma stocks also opened on a weak note.

Indian equity markets ended on a lower note on Thursday and reversed their gains made in previous sessions. The BSE Sensex fell 643.96 points, or 0.79%, to close at 80,952.67, while the NSE Nifty 50 declined 212.20 points, or 0.86%, to 24,601.25.
Market breadth remained negative with 1,518 stocks advancing, 1,907 declining, and 128 remaining unchanged on the BSE. Broader indices mirrored the benchmarks, indicating widespread caution across sectors.
"Nifty was in overbought territory after recent highs, and technical indicators signalled the potential for short-term correction. Despite a brief recovery midweek, domestic markets resumed their downward trajectory, pressured by global uncertainty, sector-specific weakness, and stretched valuations. Traders may remain cautious ahead of key global cues and domestic macro data," noted Vikram Kasat, Head - Advisory, PL Capital.
US Stock Market Today
United States stock market remained cautious on Thursady's trading session. S&P500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, NYSE Composite Index, NYSE American Composite Index ended with minor losses on Thursday.
Asian Stock Market Today
In the Asian markets, the Nikkei 225 saw a notable rise, increasing by 294.97 points, indicating a positive outlook among investors towards Japan's economic recovery and corporate earnings. On the other hand, the S&P/ASX 200 in Australia went up by 21.00 points, reflecting optimism in the Australian financial sector.
The volatility index, which measures market uncertainty, decreased by 0.59 points, indicating a slight reduction in investor anxiety. This could suggest a more stable market environment or investor adaptation to ongoing market conditions.
