Stock Market Closed: BSE, NSE To Remain Closed Today On Occasion Of Guru Nanak Jayanti

On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) will be closed on Friday. According to the list of stock market holidays for 2021, trading in currency, debt, and equity categories will be suspended today.

While the commodity section will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., it will reopen at 5 p.m. for the evening session.

The main indices were dragged lower by selling pressure across sectors, led by IT, financial, and auto stocks. This is the third stock market holiday in November 2021, according to the calendar of stock market holidays for 2021. Prior to Guru Nanak Jayanti, Indian markets were closed for Diwali Laxmi Pujan and Diwali Balipratipada on November 4th and 5th, 2021. As a result, November 2021 will be the last month in which the stock market is closed for three days following April 2021.
