Power Grid Corporation of India | 2QFY26: First Cut
“Power Grid (PGCIL) reported in-line revenue for 2QFY26. EBITDA and Adj. PAT missed estimates by 5% and 14%, respectively, due to 77% YoY increase in other expenses. Key highlights from the results are as follows:-Revenue in 2QFY26 stood at INR 115bn (2% YoY, -1% JMFe, -1% Cons.).-EBITDA for the quarter came in at INR 91bn (-6% YoY, -5% JMFe, -7% Cons) due to increase in other expenses by INR 7.4bn YoY.-EBITDA margin in 2QFY26 stood at 79.4% vs. 86% in 1QFY25, down by 661bps due to impact of other expenses.-PAT stood at INR 36bn (-6% YoY, -14% JMFe, -7% Cons.).-Board has declared first interim dividend of INR 4.5 per share for FY26,” said Sudhanshu Bansal of JM Financial Institutional Securities.

Titan Company | In line quarter; festive commentary key to watch out
“Standalone Performance Revenue: Standalone revenue grew ~18% YoY (ex- bullion), led by 19% underlying growth in jewellery (ex-bullion), 13% in watches, and 9% in eyewear. The quarter witnessed a slow start and performance progressively improved with the early festive commencement in September. Margins: Reported EBITDA grew 43% YoY (4% below JMFe) as EBITDA margin expanded ~120bps YoY to 9.8% (11.1% ex-bullion; JMFe: 11.5%) led by gross margin expansion of ~60bps YoY to 22.7% (ex bullion; JMFe: 21.9%) and ~20/60bps lower employee/other expense partially offset by ~10bps YoY higher advertisement expenses. PAT grew 43% YoY to INR 10.1bn (7% below JMFe) as other income declined 14% YoY and interest/ depreciation grew 14%/11% YoY,” said Gaurav Jogani of JM Financial Institutional Securities.

FIIs’ renewed selling is constraining the rally in the market. During the last four days FIIs have sold equity worth Rs 14269 crores. This is an indication that they will continue to sell on rallies. Higher valuations in India and muted earnings growth are restraining FIIs who are more focused on cheaper markets with better earnings growth.
However, this is likely to be a short-term challenge. Medium-term prospects look good with robust GDP growth and impressive sales data, particularly from automobiles. Modest earnings growth of banking and poor earnings growth of IT will restrain earnings growth in FY26. But impressive earnings growth around 15% is likely in FY27 and the market will soon start discounting this.
A significant trend in the market is the resilience of the PSU banking space. This segment is even now attractively valued in a market which is richly valued. The prospects of this segment look bright in the context of the coming merger of PSU banks.

The largest private sector non-bank lender in India, Bajaj Finance Ltd., which is a part of Bajaj Finserv, reported today that it had witnessed a spike in consumer finance during the festive season, disbursing a record number of consumer loans that were 29% more valuable and 27% more volume than they were during the same period last year. Between September 22 and October 26, 2025, Bajaj Finance disbursed almost 63 lakh loans. The company greatly advanced financial inclusion at that period by gaining 23 lakh fresh customers, of whom 52% were new to credit.
