Nifty Futures Outlook By Axis Securities
Nifty futures gained 284 points and continued its upward trend for the fifth consecutive session on Monday, propelled by significant advances in major banking stocks. This rally was largely driven by stronger-than-anticipated Q4 earnings from leading private banks, which bolstered investor confidence. Furthermore, U.S. Vice President JD Vance's inaugural official visit to India, alongside a high-profile delegation, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations, positively influenced sentiment among foreign institutional investors and assisted in maintaining the positive momentum. The depreciation of the U.S. dollar further lifted investor sentiment. The Bank Nifty also saw a notable rise and rallied 1092 points at the close of the trading session, following the strong Q4 results from ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank. Investors will closely watch the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF, scheduled for April 21 to 26 in Washington, D.C., where discussions will address trade tensions and various institutional initiatives. The Indian rupee appreciated for the fifth straight session, ending 24 paise higher at 85.14 against the U.S. dollar, compared to 85.38 on Thursday, reflecting overall market optimism. The India VIX, which indicates short-term volatility expectations, remained steady, closing at 15.52%, further reinforcing optimism among market participants. The Nifty futures premium rose to 10 from 0 points, while the Bank Nifty premium improved from -89 to -11 points.
