The stock of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance witnessed a significant downturn, plummeting more than nine percent during the early trading hours on January 22. This decline was triggered by the company's underperformance in margins during the third quarter (October-December) of the financial year 2025.
Despite the insurer reporting a substantial 43 percent increase in net profit, reaching Rs 326 crore up from Rs 227 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the anticipated growth in the value of new businesses (VNB) margins fell short of market expectations. This discrepancy between anticipated and actual performance led to a negative reaction in the stock market.
