Stock Market Live Updates: Gift Nifty Hints Flat Start, Adani Group In Focus

GIFT The Nifty on the NSE IX is up 2.5 points, or 0.01 per cent, to 21,079.5-, indicating that Dalal Street will likely have a sleepy Monday morning on the back of mixed global cues. On Monday, the price of oil crept up. Futures for Brent crude increased by 11 cents, or 0.2%, to $75.95 per barrel, while those for U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude up by 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $71.30 per barrel.

Ahead of the week filled with major central bank meetings for policy decisions and data on U.S. inflation, Asian shares began trading on a flat note on Monday. Tokyo stocks, on the other hand, opened higher as the benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 1.58 per cent, or 509.75 points, at 32,817.61 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 1.38 per cent, or 32.03 points, to 2,356.50.

The Adani group, headed by billionaire Gautam Adani, plans to invest Rs 7 lakh crore in capital projects over the next ten years, according to a December 10 news agency report by PTI. In a stock exchange filing, Adani Energy Solutions stated that the portfolio recently revealed its intention to invest more than Rs 7 lakh crore over the following ten years in order to solidify its dominant position as the largest infrastructure player in India.
