GIFT Nifty futures brought some relief for investors this morning, showing signs of a rebound after the massive crash seen on Monday. As of around 8:15 AM, Nifty futures were trading 189 points higher at 22,676, indicating a potential recovery in the domestic stock market today

On Monday, benchmark indices witnessed their worst single-day fall in 10 months, triggered by fears of a global trade war and recession after the U.S. announced reciprocal tariffs. The Sensex closed 2,226.79 points or 2.95% lower at 73,137.90, while the Nifty slipped 742.85 points or 3.24% to end at 22,161.60. All sectoral indices ended in the red, due to broad-based selling.

In early trade today, Asian markets showed strong resilience despite the weakness in U.S. indices overnight. Japan's Nikkei surged over 6%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained around 400 points. Shanghai Composite and South Korea's Kospi also extended gains, adding to the positive momentum in the region.
Overnight on Wall Street, the Dow Jones fell 0.91% and the S&P 500 slipped 0.23%, while the Nasdaq bucked the trend and ended 0.1% higher.
