Stock Market Live Updates: Sensex Drops 300 Pts, Nifty 50 Slips Below 23,500; IT Stocks Under Pressure

Stock Market Live Updates: Indian stock market started Friday's session on a choppy note. While the NSE and BSE indices opened flat on Friday, Nifty 50 struggled to retain its 25,550 mark later and Sensex was down nearly 130 points.

BSE scrip stole the show as it surged nearly 7% during the pre-market session. Nifty It and Nifty Auto stocks opened weak amid concerns about Donald Trump trade tariffs. Earlier, Gift Nifty had indicated a lacklusture beginning of of the Indian stock market on Friday, a day after Nifty and Sensex recovered their loss in last session.

The Indian equity markets bounced back on Thursday, after witnessing continuous sessions of weakness. Nifty reclaimed its 23,500 mark whereas, BSE Sensex was up 317 points yesterday.

Nifty 50 closed 100 points higher to 23,591.95 and BSE Sensex jumped 317 points to close at 77606 points. Nifty Bank PSU, Auto and Pharma sectors emerged as the biggest gainers of the session. As the stock market indices draw a positive close to March's session, people will be keenly observing the impact of United States President Donald Trump's trade tariffs set to be imposed from 1 April.

On Friday March 28, the 24-carat gold rate in India jumped to touch a record high of Rs. 1,140 per 10 grams to retail at Rs. 90,980.
