Closing Bell: Sensex Falls 458 Pts, Nifty Ends Above 25,500; PNB, Trent Among Top Gainers

Stock Market Live Updates: Market was trading in the red this afternoon. As of 2 PM today, Nifty 50 was down by 141.30 points, or 0.55%, at 5,496.50. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex had fallen by 483.53 points, or 0.58%, and stood at 83,575.37.

Indian stock market traded lower with Sensex struggling around 83,800 and Nifty performing around 25,565. Realty, private banks, and FMCG stocks witnessed selling pressure, however, the downside was limited due to strong buying in PSU bank, media and specific metal stocks.

With that market has halted its last week's winning streak.

In the early deals of Monday, Nifty 50 opened marginally higher at 25661 points. Whereas, BSE Sensex opened 31 points lower at 84027.3 points.

According to experts, Nifty and Sensex are likely to follow the positive momentum that prevailed across the global stock market during the weekend.

Stock market investors are hoping that the Indian benchmark indices continue their bullish momentum, gained in past few trading sessions. The Nifty 50 ended the Friday's trading session at 25637 after gaining nearly 2.93% during the last week's sessions. Similarly, BSE Sensex jumped nearly 3.05% during the last week's trading sessions to settle at 84058 on Friday.
