Stock Market Live Updates: Sensex Down 132 Points, Nifty Below 25,000: Eternal, Ultratech in Red

Sensex opened at a lower note witnessing a fall of 624.20 points to reach 81.561.45 (0.75%) at 9:30 AM, after opening at 82.038. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 fell 180.45 points (0.76%) to 24.820.60 post opening at 24,956.10 lower than the previous close.

The domestic equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open flat on Tuesday amid a cautious sentiment in global markets.

Gift Nifty edged slightly lower in early Tuesday trading, indicating a slow start for Indian markets. The index stood at 25,017 points in the morning session, down 0.13% from its previous close.

The Sensex surged 455.37 points, or 0.56%, to close at 82,176.45, while the Nifty 50 ended at 148.00 points, or 0.60%, higher at 25,001.15. On the BSE, Tata Motors, Nestle India, ITC, HCL Technologies were among the top gainers on Monday.

Asian markets traded mixed, while US stock futures jumped on easing trade tensions between the European Union and the US.

Stocks like Bharat Dynamics, Hindustan Copper, LIC, Bosch, TTK Prestige, Hindustan Copper will be in focus on May 27 for their Q4 results.

Muthoot FinCorp Ltd reported a 40% rise in net profit for FY25 at Rs 787.15 crore, up from Rs 562.81 crore in FY24. Annual revenue grew 38.22% to Rs 5,550.53 crore, while disbursements increased 32.11% year-on-year to Rs 66,277.31 crore. For Q4 FY25, revenue stood at Rs 1,478.59 crore, up 23.49% from Rs 1,197.31 crore in Q4 FY24. Disbursements rose to Rs 19,648.29 crore from Rs 14,130.08 crore. However, quarterly standalone net profit declined to Rs 191.67 crore from Rs 239.79 crore. AUM rose sharply to Rs 32,055.17 crore from Rs 21,922.70 crore year-on-year.
