India's Industrial Output Rises
India's Industrial output climbed to 10.3% in August 2023, which is the highest level since June 2022. This is a strong growth compared to growth of 5.7% in the previous month. Also, the country's IIP index was better than Street's expectation of 9%.
The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production
(IIP) with base 2011-12 stands at 145.1. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors for the month of August 2023 stand at 111.9, 143.5 and 220.5 respectively, as per the ministry.

Infosys Shares In Focus:
Infosys posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 6,212 crore which is attributable to the owners of the company, registering a growth of 4.5% QoQ and 3.2% YoY. However, Infosys sees its top-line front under pressure ahead as it trims the upper-end of constant currency revenue growth guidance.
In Q2FY24, operating profit stood at Rs 8,274 crore, rising by 4.8% QoQ and 5.1% YoY. Operating margins also expanded sequentially by 0.4% to 21.2%. Consolidated revenue stood at Rs 38,994 crore in the quarter, posting a growth of 2.8% QoQ and 6.7% YoY.
