Stock Market Opening: Nifty and Sensex opened flat on Thursday, despite Gift Nifty indicated a strong start to the trading session today. The benchmark indices are likely to perform well and make some gains in the session, according to analysts.
Several stocks, including Tata Consumer, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Dr Reddy's, etc, remained in action on Thursday because of their Q1 result buzz. Nifty Bank stocks remained under pressure as the index was down 0.24% at 57,070.85 points. Meanwhile, Nifty Financial was trading 0.27% lower at 27,143.3 points.

Nearly 1,670 stocks were advancing and around 1,194 stocks were declining, and 136 stocks remained unchanged on BSE at 9:34 am. 54 stocks had touched their 52-week high mark and around 21 stocks were down to their 52-week low mark.
Top Gainers, Top Losers
Dr Reddy's, Tata Motors, Tata Consumer, Eternal, Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors, etc were among the top gainers on NSE. Whereas, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, Reliance, etc were among the top Nifty 50 laggards.
Will Nifty 50 Cross 25,400 Mark?
The benchmark index can cross the 25,400 mark on July 24 if it closes above 25340, noted Nirmal Bang in its Nifty technical outlook.
"Nifty is expected to open on a flattish note and likely to witness range bound move during the day. On technical grounds, Nifty has an immediate resistance at 25340. If Nifty closes above that, further upside side can be expected towards 25400-25470 mark. On the flip side 25170-25100 will act as strong support levels," read a report by Nirmal Bang.
"Bank Nifty's next immediate resistance is around 57500 levels on the upside and on a decisive close above expect a rise to 57770-58000. There is an immediate support at 57000-56770 levels," the report added.

The Indian stock market opening today came after Gift Nifty had indicated a positive opening of Nifty and Sensex on Thursday. Nifty 50 closed 0.63% higher at Rs 25,219 points, whereas Sensex jumped around 530 points to close at 82,726.89 points. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex remained strong in the previous trading session as investors continued the buying spree amid posiitve market sentiment.
Bharti Airtel, Shriram Finance, Apollo Hospital, Bajaj Finance, Jio Finance, Maruti, and Bajaj Auto were among the top gainers on Nifty. Whereas, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Grasim,
Top Nifty gainers were Bharti Airtel, Shriram Finance, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finance, Jio Finance, Maruti, and Bajaj Auto. With Bharti Airtel rising up to 2.20%.While Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Grasim, BEL, Ultra Tech Cement, Tata Steel and ONGC were among the top losers of the day.
Key Factors To Watch Out For
Q1 result announcements today are likely to set to the stage for the Indian stock market investors. Nestle India, Bajaj Finance, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, APL Apollo Tubes, Adani Energy Solutions, ACC, Cyient, Ujjwal Small Finance Bank, and V-Mart Retail will announce their first quarter results for financial year 2025-26.
Global Stock Market Today
The global stock market continued to remain in its positive movement. The United States stock market concluded its second straight session of positive development. S&P500 shares closed 49 points higher at 6,358.91, whereas Nasdaq jumped 127.33 points to conclude at 21,020.02 points . Asian stock markets also remained strong earlier in today with Nikkei 225 trading 1.75% higher at 41,882 points at 9:40 am. Hang Seng Index was trading 0.52% higher at 25,670 points.
