Stock Market Outlook Today, 27 July 2026: Sensex, Nifty Likely To Stay Under Pressure Amid US-Iran Tensions

Indian stock markets are expected to open on a cautious note on Monday, 27 July 2026, with investors closely monitoring developments in the US-Iran conflict, rising crude oil prices, foreign investor activity and the ongoing Q1 FY27 earnings season. Analysts believe elevated geopolitical tensions and weakness in the rupee could continue to weigh on market sentiment in the near term.

Stock Market Outlook Today, 27 July 2026: Sensex, Nifty Prediction

After ending last week with sharp losses, both the Sensex and Nifty 50 are likely to remain volatile as investors assess global risks alongside domestic corporate earnings.

Crude Oil and US-Iran Tensions Remain Key Triggers

Market experts believe the biggest concern for Indian equities continues to be the sharp rise in Brent crude oil prices, which has increased fears of higher inflation and a widening import bill.

Sensex Nifty Prediction Today

"Indian equities are expected to remain under pressure as escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia keep Brent crude oil prices elevated, weighing on the rupee and investor sentiment. Iran's rejection of the US-backed temporary ceasefire proposal has heightened the risk of prolonged disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, keeping energy markets on edge," said Siddhartha Khemka - Head of Research, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd.

"Foreign Institutional flows are likely to remain volatile until there is greater clarity on the geopolitical situation and sustained stability in crude oil prices, which will be key to restoring investor confidence and improving the outlook for equity markets. Additionally, the Q1FY27 earnings season will continue to be in focus," said Pabitro Mukherjee, Deputy Vice President-Research, Bajaj Broking.

Apart from geopolitical developments, market participants are expected to keep a close watch on quarterly earnings announcements, which could drive stock-specific action across sectors.

Nifty Prediction Today, 27 July 2026: Will Nifty 50 Fall Below 23,600?

Technical analysts believe the Nifty 50 remains under pressure after breaking below a crucial support level during the previous week.

The benchmark index declined 2.33% last week, slipping below the important 23,800 mark, which had acted as a strong support zone for nearly six weeks. The breakdown has weakened the short-term technical structure and increased the possibility of further downside if selling pressure continues.

"Immediate support is now placed at 23,600, and a decisive break below this level could accelerate selling pressure towards 23,300. On the upside, the 24,000 mark remains a key hurdle, coinciding with both the 21 day and 55 day EMA. Until the index reclaims this zone, a sell on rise strategy remains the preferred trading approach," said Dr. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer from Master Capital Services Ltd.

According to analysts, the 23,600 level will remain the most important support for today's session, while 24,000 is expected to act as immediate resistance.

Bank Nifty Outlook Today: Banking Index Faces Further Weakness

The Bank Nifty also ended last week under significant pressure, falling 3.12% after several major private and public sector banks announced their quarterly earnings.

The banking index has now slipped below both the 21-day and 55-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMA), indicating weakening short-term momentum. It also closed at its lowest level in nearly seven weeks.

"Immediate support is placed in the 56,000-56,100 zone, which coincides with the 21 week EMA. A decisive breach below this support could trigger an extended decline towards 55,500. On the upside, 57,300 remains a crucial resistance level, and until the index reclaims it, a sell on rise strategy is advised," said Expert Singh from Master Capital Services Ltd.
