Stock Market Outlook Today, October 13: Sensex, Nifty Likely To Remain Volatile Amid Rising Inflation Concerns

After struggling to sustain its recent recovery, the Indian stock market heads into Tuesday's session with investors looking for signs of a turnaround. The Nifty 50 and Sensex will be tested by weak price action, pressure on banking stocks and a fresh set of quarterly earnings, while the Nifty's ability to hold the 22,200 mark could prove crucial in determining whether the market extends its rebound or faces another round of selling on October 13.

Stock Market Outlook Today, 13 October 2026 LIVE: Sensex, Nifty Prediction for Tuesday

The market mood remains fragile amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty and elevated crude oil prices.

"Indian markets are likely to remain cautious in the near term amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, volatility crude oil prices and uncertainty over a resolution to the West Asia crisis. Brent crude remained above USD 104/bbl, while renewed Houthi attacks on Riyadh on October 10 and 11 heightened regional security risks," said Siddhartha Khemka - Head of Research, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd.

With diplomatic efforts stalled and US and Israel elections approaching, near-term hopes of de-escalation remain limited. As the 2QFY27 earnings season gathers pace, markets are likely to see stock-specific action," Khemka added.

Nifty Prediction Today, October 13, 2026: Check Technical Outlook For Tuesday Trading

The Nifty 50 slipped by around 150 points on Monday, October 12, giving up some ground after Friday's rebound and closing near the 22,350 level. The index's next move will depend on whether buyers can defend the crucial support zone identified by market analysts. A sustained hold above support could help the benchmark attempt another recovery, although selling pressure and volatility may limit the upside.

According to Anand Rathi Research, the Nifty has immediate support in the 22,200-21,800 range, while 22,800 remains the key resistance level. The research team has also highlighted a triple bullish RSI divergence across the Nifty 50, Nifty 500, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 150 indices, a technical signal that could indicate improving momentum after the recent decline.

"We believe the recent recovery attempt remains intact as long as NIFTY holds the crucial 22,200 support. On the upside, 22,800 remains the immediate hurdle, and a sustained move above this level would strengthen the case for a meaningful recovery. While volatility and intermittent profit booking may persist, our view remains unchanged, with the risk-reward increasingly favourable for a potential rebound from the current oversold zone," said Anand Rathi Research team.

Bank Nifty Prediction: Key Levels To Watch

Banking stocks could remain an important factor in determining the direction of the broader market on Tuesday. The Bank Nifty fell by around 350 points on Monday and closed below the 55,000 mark, reflecting continued pressure in the banking segment. The index will need to regain momentum to support a broader market recovery.

Anand Rathi Research has identified 54,300 as the immediate support level for the Bank Nifty, while 55,500 is the key resistance to watch. Holding above 54,300 could keep the near-term outlook positive, but a sustained break below this level may invite further selling. On the upside, a move above 55,500 would be needed to strengthen recovery prospects.

What Will Drive Sensex And Nifty On October 13?

Crude oil prices and developments in West Asia are likely to remain key external factors for Indian equities. Oil prices above USD 104 per barrel could add to concerns over inflation and the domestic economic outlook, while any escalation in regional tensions may further affect investor confidence. Markets will also track developments in global equities and the direction of institutional investment flows for cues.

The ongoing second-quarter earnings season is another factor to watch. Company results and management commentary could trigger stock-specific moves, particularly where earnings performance differs from market expectations.
