Stock Market Outlook Today, September 1st 2026: Sensex, Nifty Prediction for Monday
Market volatility increased during the final hour due to MSCI rebalancing-related activity, resulting in sharper swings in several stocks. Elevated crude oil prices, with Brent crude remaining above $90 per barrel, and ongoing geopolitical concerns also continued to weigh on investor sentiment.

Nifty Prediction Today, September 1, 2026: Check Technical Outlook For Nifty50
According to Bajaj Broking Research, the Nifty formed a small bearish candle on the daily chart with a long lower shadow. The pattern indicates corrective consolidation, while buying interest was visible around the 24,000 level.
The index tested the 24,000 mark during Monday's session. A decisive break below this level could increase selling pressure and push the Nifty towards the next support zone near 23,800. On the upside, the 50-day EMA near 24,190 is expected to act as an important hurdle. A sustained move above this level could open the way for a pullback towards 24,300-24,350 in the coming sessions.
"Overall, we expect the index to extend the recent consolidation and trade in the broad range of 23,800-24,600 amid stock specific action. Within the consolidation last two-week highs placed around 24,380 will be the key hurdle for the index only a move above the same will signal positive movement. Failure to move above the same will keep the bias corrective," said Bajaj Broking Research.
The brokerage has identified 24,000-23,800 as the key support zone for the Nifty. This area is supported by the confluence of the previous major gap area and the 61.8% retracement of the previous upward move from 23,606 to 24,774.
Bank Nifty Prediction Today
Bank Nifty showed relatively better buying interest on Monday. The index formed a bullish candle with a lower low and a higher high, indicating demand around the 50-day EMA.
Bajaj Broking Research said the broader nine-week consolidation range remains intact between 56,500 and 58,700. A breakout above or breakdown below this range could provide a clearer directional signal.
"Within the consolidation index is facing resistance around 58,000 levels. Index sustaining above 58,000 levels will open upside towards 58,500-58.700 levels. Failure to move above 58,000 levels will signal consolidation in the range 57,000-58,000 levels in the coming sessions," said Bajaj Broking Research.
In the shorter timeframe, Bank Nifty has been consolidating within a narrow range for the past 19 sessions. The index has retraced only around 50% of its previous seven-session rise from 56,023 to 58,248, which suggests that a higher base may be forming.
The 56,500 level remains an important short-term support for Bank Nifty. The level coincides with the 52-week EMA and the lower boundary of the nine-week consolidation range.
