Why Is Indian Stock Market Rising Today?

One of the key factors supporting the market is the recent decline in global crude oil prices. Brent crude fell 2.25% to $101.5 a barrel, providing some relief to oil-importing economies such as India. Lower crude prices can help ease concerns around inflation, input costs and the country's external finances, making the move an important macro trigger for domestic equities.

The fall in oil prices has also brought attention to sectors that are sensitive to energy and raw material costs. Paints, aviation, cement and some consumer-facing companies can benefit when crude and related costs soften. This helped stocks such as Asian Paints, InterGlobe Aviation and UltraTech Cement attract buying interest during early trade.

Foreign Buying Adds Support To Dalal Street

Another factor behind Monday's gains was renewed buying by foreign institutional investors. FIIs purchased Indian equities worth Rs 599.54 crore on Friday, providing additional support to the market after a period of selling pressure.

Foreign fund flows remain an important driver for large-cap stocks and benchmark indices. Their buying activity can particularly influence sectors with a heavy representation in the major indices, including financials, technology and energy.

The return of foreign buying, alongside supportive global conditions, has therefore added to the positive tone in the domestic market. Investors, however, will continue to watch whether the inflow sustains in the coming sessions.

Asian Markets Give Positive Global Cues

Asian markets also provided support to Indian equities at the start of the week. South Korea's Kospi, Shanghai's SSE Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were trading higher, while US markets had ended mostly positive on Friday.

The favourable overseas cues helped improve risk appetite at the opening of Indian markets. However, investors remain watchful of global developments, including upcoming US-China talks and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which could influence market sentiment and crude oil prices.

Nifty Prediction Ahead: Check Technical Outlook

"Index formed a small bullish candle with a higher high and higher low, indicating continuation of a pullback from the extreme oversold teritorry . Ongoing consolidation around the 61.8% retracement zone of the immediate swing (22,182 - 24,774 ) indicates a potential base formation at lower levels . Daily and weekly oscillators remain in oversold territory, keeping the possibility of extension of pullback open in the coming sessions," said Bajaj Broking Research.
