RITES

At the ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year 2022-2023, RITES Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise, won the "Silver Shield" in the "Infrastructure and Construction Sector" category. Additionally, in the "Service Sector" (other than Financial Services Sector) category, RITES' subsidiary REMC Ltd., which generates and manages power, has been granted "Plaque" award.

NLC India

NLC India Ltd granted the EPC contract to BHEL for putting up a Pit Head Green Field Thermal Power Project of 2,400 MW capacity (3 x 800 MW - Stage I) based on Ultra Super Critical Technology at Jharsuguda District in the Odisha State after requesting competitive offers using ICB method. The area of responsibility of the EPC contract covers engineering, manufacturing, shipment, erection, and commissioning of equipment for 3 X 800 MW-2400 MW Stage I, including boilers, turbines, generators, balance of plants, FGD, and SCR. The 2400 MW of total electricity is linked to the states of Puducherry, Kerala, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu, as well as PPAs that have already been completed. The first unit of the project is expected for commissioning in the FY 2028- 29.

Avenue Supermarts

The firm revealed that its total revenue for the quarter ended December 31, 2023, was Rs. 13,247 crore, up 17.2% YoY from Rs. 11,305 crore during the same period the previous year. In Q3FY24, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) were Rs. 1,121 crore, enhancing 15.0% YoY from Rs. 974 crore in Q3FY23. In Q3FY24, the EBITDA margin was 8.5%, down from 8.6% in Q3FY23. In Q3FY24, net profit was Rs. 737 crore, growing 14.9% YoY from Rs. 641 crore in the same period the previous year. PAT margin remained at 5.5% in Q3FY24 as opposed to 5.7% in Q3FY23.

EaseMyTrip

Tata Consumer Products declared that it had finalised a 100% acquisition in equity shares of Organic India. This decision is consistent with Tata Consumer's strategy to increase its product line and its target addressable market in fast growing/high-profit categories. Tata Consumer Products would have a platform for health and wellness as a result of this transaction.

In India, the Total Addressable Market for the categories in which Organic India operates is Rs 7,000 crores, whereas in overseas areas where Tata Consumer is well-established, it is Rs 75,000 crores. Along with driving portfolio premiumization and opening up new channels and markets, the deal will yield substantial synergy benefits in distribution, logistics, and overheads.

BHEL

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received an order for EPC package for 3x800 MW NLC Talabira Thermal Power Project (NTTPP), Jharsuguda District, Odisha, India from NLC India Limited. The size of the order is Rs. 15,000 Cr and will be commissioned in 64 months.

Jio Financial Services

Jio Financial Services is the center of attention today as it prepares to release its earnings for the December quarter on January 15. The stock ended trading on the NSE at Rs 254.90 on January 12.

Life Insurance Corporation of India

The Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, filed an income tax demand of Rs 1,370.60 crore against LIC. The corporation plans to appeal the aforementioned decisions to the Commissioner (Appeals), Mumbai.
