Sudarshan Pharma Share Price Falls Over 5% Despite Q2 Net Profit Surging 86% YoY to Rs 7.7 Cr, Revenue Up 28%
Sudarshan Pharma Industries Ltd shares came under pressure on Friday, despite the pharmaceutical company reporting strong year-on-year growth in revenue and net profit for the September quarter of FY27. The stock was trading over 5% down from its previous close, indicating selling pressure following the company's quarterly earnings announcement.
Sudarshan Pharma Share Price Today After Strong Q2 Results
Sudarshan Pharma Industries shares opened Friday's session at Rs 39.00, which was also the intraday high recorded at the time of reporting. The stock subsequently declined to Rs 34.65 before trading at Rs 35.06 at 11:59 am IST.

The decline came even as the company's latest quarterly numbers showed stronger earnings growth than revenue growth. The divergence between the earnings performance and the share price highlights that a positive results announcement does not necessarily translate into immediate buying interest.
Sudarshan Pharma Q2 Results: Net Profit Rises 86% to Rs 7.78 Crore
Sudarshan Pharma Industries reported consolidated net profit of Rs 7.78 crore for Q2 FY27, compared with Rs 4.18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. This represents year-on-year growth of 86.12%, with profit expanding considerably faster than the company's revenue.
Consolidated revenue increased 28.48% to Rs 216.97 crore in the July-September quarter, against Rs 168.87 crore in Q2 FY26. The results point to an improvement in the company's ability to convert sales into earnings during the quarter.
However, the company's net profit margin remained relatively narrow at 3.6%, compared with 2.5% a year earlier. Maintaining this improvement will be important, particularly if operating costs, input prices or other expenses rise in subsequent quarters.
Profitability Improves, but Quarterly Earnings Remain Volatile
While the year-on-year increase in profit is encouraging, the latest performance should also be viewed in the context of the company's recent quarterly earnings trend. Sudarshan Pharma Industries' net profit over the last five quarters has ranged from Rs 4.18 crore to Rs 10.73 crore.
At Rs 7.78 crore, Q2 FY27 net profit represents a substantial improvement over the year-ago period, although it is below the highest quarterly profit recorded during this period. This suggests that the latest results reflect a recovery in earnings compared with Q2 FY26, but further quarterly performance will be needed to establish whether the improvement marks a sustained growth trend.
