Survey Reveals Divergent Views On E-Shopping For Quality Produce, Otipy Finds

Nearly 44 percent of respondents believe e-shopping provides better access to quality produce, while 56 percent still hold the belief that traditional offline shopping offers superior options, according to a survey conducted by agritech startup Otipy.

The survey, which included more than 3,000 participants, was conducted online during the month of May and aimed to understand the evolving shopping behaviours of consumers in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, as stated by the company in a statement.

The survey's results on affordability showed that 50% of respondents thought prices were lower offline, while the other 50% said prices were lower online.

About 50% of people believe that weights can be accurately determined both online and offline, whereas just under 30% believe that online is preferable.

Among other findings, 71% of respondents said they preferred to shop online. The majority of respondents-the remaining 36%-want fresh fruits and vegetables delivered within a day.

Due to its convenience and time-saving advantages, online shopping for fruits and vegetables is becoming more and more common.

The survey also reveals the growing desire for sustainable and healthier options, as 43% of respondents choose organic or hydroponic produce.

Furthermore, 51% of respondents think certification and traceability are extremely important.

Almost 77% of consumers are willing to spend up to 15% more for hydroponically grown and organic fruits and vegetables.
