Suzlon Energy Share Price Today Slips After Weak Q1 Results; Buy the Dip or Book Profits Now?

Suzlon Energy Share Price Today: Shares of Suzlon Energy continued to fall for the second consecutive day after the renewable energy company reported weak profits in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27. Its revenue from operations saw marginal gains.

Suzlon Energy stock was trading 1.89% lower at Rs 47.12 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 64,705.64 crore at 10:20 am. The stock had touched an intraday high mark of Rs 48.71 per share and an intraday low of Rs 47.01 per share.

Suzlon Energy Q1 Result Review

Suzlon Energy Q1 profit missed the estimates by 2% due to lower deliveries, higher-than-expected other expenses, and thin wind turbine generator (WTG) contribution, noted Motilal Oswal in its report released on Wednesday, July 29.

"1QFY27 revenue came in at INR38.3b (+22% YoY, -30% QoQ), missing our estimate by 2% as WTG deliveries for the quarter stood at 506MW (vs our estimate of 532MW)," stated the brokerage in its report.

EBITDA stood at Rs 6 billion, which was lower by 38% on a sequential basis and around 1% on a yearly basis. Adjusted profit after tax (PAT) also missed the estimate by 26%.

Suzlon Energy Share Price Recommendation

The brokerage maintained a 'Buy' rating for the stock with a target price of Rs 65 per share. While Motilal Oswal kept its rating unchanged, it revised its target price for the stock. "We arrive at our TP of INR65 by applying a target P/E of 30x to FY28E EPS, which is at a slight premium to its historical average two-year fwd P/E of 27x."

Suzlon Energy Q1 Result Recap

The wind turbine maker reported a net profit of Rs 305.22 crore in Q1FY27, against Rs 324.32 crore reported in the year ago period. The renewable energy player had reported a net profit of Rs 1, 114.35 crore in Q4FY26.While net profit declined marginally during the quarter under review, the company's net revenue from operations remained strong.

Its Q1FY27 net revenue from operations stood at Rs 3,819.36 crore against Rs 3,117.33 crore reported in the year-ago period. Its revenue from operations stood at Rs 5,468.06 crore in Q4FY26. With this, the company's total revenue from operations stood at Rs 3,862.53 crore during the quarter under review.
