In a move that reflects India's growing importance as a global manufacturing hub, Taiwan-based Bestek Group has announced its plans to establish a manufacturing unit near Bengaluru. The investment, valued at Rs 200 crore, was confirmed by Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries Minister, MB Patil, on August 20.
This development follows a high-level meeting between Minister Patil and the Bestek Group's top brass, including Chairman Mike Chen and Vice Chairman Teresa Dong. During the meeting, Minister Patil assured the company of Karnataka's full support in facilitating their India operations, emphasizing the state's commitment to fostering industrial growth and creating employment opportunities.
The proposed manufacturing unit is expected to be a game-changer for the region, with the potential to create around 5,000 jobs over the next three years. This aligns with India's broader strategy of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to boost its manufacturing sector, especially in the electronics and consumer goods industries.

Bestek, a company renowned for its high-quality adapters, C-pins, EV and laptop chargers, and cables, aims to leverage this new facility to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 2,500 crore. The company's expansion into India is seen as a strategic move to tap into the rapidly growing demand for consumer electronics in the country, as well as to strengthen its global supply chain.
Formally established in December 2007, Bestek Group has rapidly evolved into a leading player in the consumer electronics space. Starting in 2010, the company began expanding its global footprint, setting up branch offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. This "1+3" international structure has been instrumental in driving the company's growth and global reach.
Since 2011, Bestek has transformed its traditional overseas trade operations into a global e-commerce business. By leveraging multiple online platforms, the company has expanded its sales channels and significantly increased its market penetration. Bestek's products, particularly in categories like car electronics, power chargers, and digital accessories, have become top sellers on major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and JD.com.
As the company moves forward with its plans, the collaboration between Bestek and the Karnataka government could set a precedent for other global electronics firms considering India as a viable destination for manufacturing. With the potential to generate significant economic value and employment, this partnership is poised to be a win-win for both Bestek and the state of Karnataka.
