TARIL Stock In Focus: Transformers And Rectifiers Bags Fresh Large Order From Megha Engineering

TARIL stock is going to be in focus next week as the company has informed stock exchanges that it has received a purchase order from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) for the manufacturing of transformers and related work.

According to the exchange filing, Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited said that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and will be executed as per the terms and conditions stipulated in the purchase order, with delivery scheduled within the next 35 months. The company has classified the order under its Large Orders bracket, which, as per TARIL's internal project classification, covers orders sized between Rs 100 crore and Rs 500 crore.

At the end of August 28th trading session, TARIL shares were trading around Rs 303.60 per share down marginally on the day, with a market capitalization of roughly Rs 9,100 crore and a price-to-earnings ratio in the mid-30s. TARIL shares have had a volatile run through 2026. The stock had touched a 52-week high of around Rs 552 and has since corrected sharply, hitting a 52-week low near Rs 224.

Q1FY27 Financial Performance

For Q1FY27 the company reported revenue from operations of Rs 572.34 crore, up 8% YoY from Rs 529.33 crore in Q1FY26.
Sequentially, however, revenue declined nearly 27% from Rs 782.67 crore in Q4FY26.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 109.65 crore, and the EBITDA margin stood at 19.16%. Profit After Tax, as per the company's own press release, came in at Rs 64.34 crore. There was also a sharp sequential drop from the March quarter's Rs 89-91 crore.

Record Order Book And Expansion Plans

The standout number from the Q1FY27 update was the order book, which touched a record Rs 6,630 crore, up 26% YoY, providing revenue visibility over the next 18-24 months. Order inflows for the quarter came in at Rs 2,114 crore, a jump of 218% YoY.
