Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe has urged strict action after eight women at Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion. Nashik Police formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate, and seven executives, including a female HR manager, have been arrested. Authorities are asked to review CCTV and ensure a transparent probe.
Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe called for strict action over complaints at Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik. Eight women employees alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion by senior colleagues. Gorhe said the case raised concerns about women’s safety at workplaces. Gorhe also said the matter had created social tension and needed urgent attention.

Police have arrested seven executives of the IT company in connection with the allegations. The arrests included the company’s female HR manager. The complainants said the human resources department did not act on earlier grievances. Police had already set up a special investigation team to examine the complaints from the Nashik campus.
TCS Nashik case: Gorhe asks police for strict action
In a statement issued in Mumbai, Gorhe said action should be firm and prompt. Gorhe said Gorhe had directed the Nashik Police Commissioner to take strict action. Gorhe described alleged religious conversion and workplace sexual harassment as serious issues. Gorhe said the investigation must remain impartial, transparent and thorough.
TCS Nashik case: SIT probe, evidence checks and fast track trial
Gorhe said the SIT should review key material linked to the company premises. Gorhe said investigators should examine CCTV footage, phone chats and financial transactions. Gorhe also sought a fast track court trial for the accused. Police had formed the SIT earlier in the week to probe the women employees’ complaints.
TCS Nashik case: Tata Sons announces internal investigation
On Monday, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran addressed the allegations linked to the Nashik campus. N Chandrasekaran said, "gravely concerning and anguishing\". N Chandrasekaran also announced an internal inquiry. The internal investigation will be led under a senior executive, alongside the ongoing police process.
The case remains under investigation after the arrests and the SIT’s formation. Gorhe said the allegations had affected social harmony and highlighted workplace safety concerns. Police are expected to continue checking evidence, including CCTV and records mentioned by Gorhe. The company has also begun its own internal probe under a senior executive.
