Tesla Appoints Indian-Origin Vaibhav Taneja As New CFO

Indian-Origin Vaibhav Tanejahas been selected as Tesla Inc.'s new Chief Financial Officer (CF), succeeding Zachary Kirkhorn, who stepped down on August 4 following a 13-year term with the business. He will continue to serve Tesla until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Taneja, the electric carmaker's current chief accounts officer, will take over as chief financial officer from Zachary Kirkhorn, according to SEC documents released on Monday.

Taneja has been Tesla's chief accounting officer since March 2019, after working for the company for nearly seven years. He has worked in several finance and accounting capacities at SolarCity Corp.

His first work was with PwC, where he spent 16 years across postings in the United States and India. He graduated from Delhi University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
